Sunday Snapshots - Polo

Unfortunately, Prince William had another game on this weekend, or I'm sure he would have stopped by to play with our local team. (These were taken at one of last year's games. Today's pics didn't come out very well.)

Both Lancaster and Cowtown polo clubs participate in the Work To Ride program, which provides at-risk youth with opportunities to participate in activities that promote leadership, self-esteem and community involvement.

Hope you're all having an equally gorgeous and sunny summer weekend.

  3. @Yvonne and @Alex - yep, they play all summer (I had forgotten to add they are part of the Work To Ride program) and they also have cool special weekends, such as Ferrari Club Day, Screiber Pediatric Fundraiser day, and the Taste of britain MG Cup. I feel lucky to have such a great sport close by!

  5. The rider in red is riding the most beautiful horse that I have ever seen, honestly! Awesome stature . . .

  7. Although this sport brings a sad memory to me... Don't ask why because people might laugh. The Christopher Reeve incident. He is my favorite until he died, but surely I am a great fan of this. How one could play hand in hand with a gorgeous animal...

  8. Prince William? Is he actual royalty, or is that just his nickname?

    1. Prince William - son of Prince Charles (UK). He plays polo, but I don't think he would show up at a neighborhood polo match in the US. :-)
