Bring Out Your Dead - Poetry - A to Z Challenge

Bring out, bring out,
bring out your dead!
See where your flagitious
ways have led.

Heap them upon
the blistering pyre,
deflagrate, depurate,
snuff by fire

these crepitant corpses
all bloated and black,
from glittering palace
and spindly shack,

cupidity, prejudice,
old schools of thought,
orgulous critics,
abetment you bought,

all the detritus
keeping fears fed,
bring out, bring out,
bring out your dead!

  2. Wonderful rhythm, a real chant. Interesting and unusual vocabulary, too - always a winner with me:-)

    1. I know right! It's insane! When I saw the post title I thought "eyeyesu-domine. Donae esrequie." *hit head with book* :P

      Best movie E.V.E.R.

ACK I already did my "M" post so I can't change it to Monty Python... Let's just say it's initials are M_B ;P

      Cheers!

  9. Great poem. Whenever I hear "Bring out your dead" I can't help but picture the scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail where John Cleese tries to offload a relative that is still alive!
