I've thought it might be intriguing to write twitter-style, only a few syllables to set a mood, tell a story. A sort of haiku. I like the idea of writing where the reader needs to fill in the blanks, bringing their own emotions and stories to the table. This is nice, Li. A great idea.
This idea really appeals to me. Got me thinking of other ways to flash fiction, like text messaging. But, I think your idea wins hands down. And, yes, I’d say it definitely works :)
